For this March medical edito, we are celebrating World Kidney Day with a short interview from Dr Thierno Birahim-Gueye about kidney complications linked to diabetes and HTA.
In this new March editorial, Dr. Thierno Birahim Gueye highlights chronic kidney disease as a major complication of hypertension and diabetes, emphasizing the importance of early detection.
Complications are often silent and particularly problematic in low- and middle-income countries, where diagnosis often comes too late.
Prevention and systematic screening in at-risk individuals allow for proactive intervention and limit the progression of the disease, thus reducing its impact and improving patients' quality of life.
