Every year on May 12, the world celebrates International Nurses Day.

This year’s theme — “Our nurses. Our future. The power of nurses saves lives” is closely aligned with our commitment at Sanofi’s Global Health Unit (GHU) to strengthen the capacity of healthcare professionals, especially nurses, who are at the heart of our health systems.

Nurses represent the backbone of patient care. Empowering them means directly improving the quality of care provided to patients. This belief drives our actions.

In line with this vision, Sanofi’s GHU has implemented three key initiatives:

  • Face-to-face training sessions designed to improve clinical skills,
  • An online training program offering flexible and accessible learning, and
  • Internship experience at Abass Ndao Hospital in Dakar — a unique opportunity for nurses to enhance their expertise in a real-world clinical setting.

These programs demonstrate our belief that investing in nurses is investing in the future of healthcare.

To bring this experience to life, we will share a series of three testimonials from nurses from Djibouti and Myanmar who participated in these programs through our WhatsApp news channel.

Their voices remind us that behind every program, there are real people whose lives – and the lives of their patients – are being transformed.

Together, let’s celebrate those who save lives every day, around the world.
