Edito August 2026 "Everything You Need to Know About Hypertension" Series
This August edito presents the second video in Doctor Abdoul Kane's educational series on hypertension, focusing on how the diagnosis of hypertension is made.
Dear Colleagues,
As announced in our last editorial, we are pleased to present this month the second video in our educational series dedicated to hypertension, produced by Professor Abdoul Kane, a renowned Senegalese cardiologist, holder of an exceptional class professorship at Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD) and head of the cardiology department at Dalal Jamm Hospital in Dakar.
🎥 This month: "How Is Hypertension Diagnosed ?"
The diagnosis of hypertension is a crucial step, often underestimated in daily clinical practice. Establishing a rigorous diagnosis is above all about ensuring appropriate management and avoiding the sometimes-serious complications that this silent condition can cause.
In this video, Professor Kane guides us through the different stages of the diagnostic process, as well as the silent nature of the disease and the importance of home blood pressure monitoring. A practical and rigorous resource, designed to support patients’ education.
We warmly invite you to watch this video (or listen to the corresponding podcast) and share it widely with your professional network and patients. Together, let us continue to strengthen our practices for better management of hypertension.
🔜 Coming up in October:
We look forward to seeing you next month for the third video in our series, which will address a fundamental topic: "What Are the Risk Factors for Hypertension?" An in-depth exploration of the determinants of this condition, essential for better understanding, prevention, and action.
See you soon!
