Reported Outcomes

NCD Services and support are easily accessible to patients

  • Strengthened patient care pathway programs in 5 institutions, including digital patient navigation pathways for cervical and breast cancer.

Diagnosed patients have improved knowledge and confidence to manage their condition and know how to access support. The final report on the effectiveness of the service showed that digital patient navigation shortened the interval between diagnosis and initiation of treatment. The mean time to initiation was 28.4 days in the digital navigation group, compared to 81.8 days before the programme was implemented. Furthermore, 84.0% of patients with exposure to the service started treatment within 60 days, compared to 57.9% among those with no exposure.

77% of the patients exposed to the services rated the experience as “highly satisfied”, plus a further 19% as "satisfied".

Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) are engaged and collaborating with the Care Support Networks.

Improved co-ordination and collaboration within the healthcare sector, with an expansion of navigation services being planned for more cancer types and scaling to district hospitals for referral management.
